MANILA, Philippines – July 2026 – After four days of competition involving ten teams from seven nations—the Philippines, India, Brunei, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Pakistan—the Asia Pacific Padel Cup (APPC) 2026 came to an official close in Manila.
The tournament, which was organized by Padel Pilipinas, the officially-recognized National Sports Association (NSA) of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), demonstrated the sport’s ongoing expansion throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Teams competed in Professional and Amateur Divisions across men’s, women’s, and mixed categories.
Champions Crowned
Padel Pilipinas successfully defended its title to become back-to-back Professional Division Champions, providing a strong performance throughout the tournament. With a 3-0 sweep in the finals, the Philippine team concluded its campaign and solidified its standing as one of the top padel teams in the region.
Pakistan’s Prescott Development Team finished as First Runner-Up, while Ace Padel India Team secured Second Runner-Up honors.
Highlighting the tournament’s top individual accolades, Padel Pilipinas standouts Jason Tamayo and Tao Yee Tan were named the Professional Division’s Male and Female MVPs. Their stellar performances throughout APPC 2026 set a benchmark for excellence, as both athletes secured crucial victories and consistently delivered their best work during high-stakes moments.
Amateur Division
In the Amateur Division, Taiwan gopadel staged a spectacular tournament debut by claiming the championship trophy in its inaugural appearance. Pakistan’s Prescott Development Team earned a podium finish as First Runner-Up, while Team Philippines completed the top three as Second Runner-Up.
The Amateur Division’s top individual honors went to Taiwan’s Chiu Chuan-Yu and Kao Pei-Chuan, who were named Male and Female MVPs, respectively. Standing out in a highly competitive field, both athletes showcased exceptional skill, resolve, and elite play, significantly raising the competitive bar throughout the event.
