The Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League still knows no other Most Valuable Player than Afril Bernardino, as the Batangas-New Zealand Bluefire star claimed her third straight MVP award after another stellar campaign in the 2026 season.

Bernardino dominated the MVP race with 401 overall statistical points, tallying 146 points, 103 rebounds, 35 assists, 30 steals, and 18 blocks against just 11 turnovers as she spearheaded the defending champions’ return to the WMPBL Finals.

This marked her second MVP award in the WMPBL’s professional era after also winning the honor in the inaugural 2025 season, and her third overall after capturing the Invitational MVP earlier that same year.

Bernardino’s dominance extended to the defensive end, as she also captured the Defensive Player of the Year award after leading the league in both steals and blocks.

Joining Bernardino in the Mythical Five were Allana Lim of Akari-Rizal, Batangas-New Zealand Bluefire teammate Snow Peñaranda, Monique Del Carmen of Biñan-Tatak Gel, and RK Hoops-Quezon City 10ACT’s Tantoy Ferrer.

Lim finished second in the MVP race with 333 statistical points, compiling 154 points, 67 rebounds, 23 assists, 10 steals, and four blocks to anchor Akari-Rizal’s second straight trip to the WMPBL Finals.

Peñaranda placed third with 308 statistical points behind 140 points, 81 rebounds, 23 assists, five steals, and three blocks, while Del Carmen came in fourth with 305 statistical points after tallying 138 points, 60 rebounds, 27 assists, 14 steals, and seven blocks.

Ferrer rounded out the top five with 302 statistical points, posting 148 points, 99 rebounds, 31 assists, 19 steals, and five blocks during another impressive all-around campaign that led the Quezon City-based squad to its first semifinal appearance.

Meanwhile, Mar Prado, who suited up in the Invitational Tournament last year but sat out the league’s inaugural professional season, was named Rookie of the Year after a solid campaign with the Sparks.

She finished seventh overall in statistical points with 290 and led all rookies, comfortably outpacing Biñan-Tatak Gel’s Eka Soriano, who accumulated 238 statistical points.

Rounding out the individual awardees was Pasig’s Lee Sario, who took home the Most Improved Player honor after finishing 12th overall in statistical points with 20
